Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Programme
The Power of Mindfulness in the Workplace
"The effectiveness of an intervention depends on the interior condition of the intervenor."
– Bill O'Brien CEO Hanover Insurance
How does inattention impact on our effectiveness? And how much of our working life is characterised by being caught up? With more and more information to process, attention fatigue is becoming an increasing challenge and has been linked to unhealthy levels of stress. The all-important balance of 'being and doing' is so easily lost, at a high cost to our personal and professional wellbeing.
Although we are trained to deal with so many different aspects of our work, we often don't get any training in how to manage ourselves. To support your ongoing wellness initiatives, this one-day (or 8 week) training course will introduce you to the principles of mindfulness and give you effective and well-proven tools to sustain a real quality of balanced and dynamic attention throughout the working day.
You will learn how to:
- Develop and sustain a quality of awareness to help you achieve your goals
- Balance the rhythm and pace of your attention between concentration and reflection, mental effort and rest
- Enhance your ability for clear thinking and effective communication
- Improve your overall effectiveness in the workplace by practising the four hallmarks of mindfulness
- Quickly access the benefits of the relaxation response
- Recover more rapidly from stressful events
- Integrate mindfulness into everyday life
This experiential and interactive training consists of guided instruction in a number of mindfulness-based practices, including sitting, moving, silent exploration, collective inquiry and dialogue, and focussed teaching sessions.
Mindfulness based stress reduction training (MBSR) is an outgrowth of the work that began at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 1979 - the oldest and largest academic medical centre-based stress reduction program in the USA.
This experiential and interactive training consists of guided instruction in a number of mindfulness based practices, including sitting, moving, silent exploration, collective inquiry and dialogue, and focussed teaching sessions. Our MBSR programmes can be tailored for the needs of your particular workplace, and are also appropriate for all areas of the health sector to support healing and wellbeing.
